The Bartlett Park and Harbordale Neighborhood Associations will sponsor Salt Creek cleanup days Saturday June 21st and twice a year. Other sponsors include Boy Scouts of America and Keep Pinellas Beautiful.
Volunteers will meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Bartlett Park Community Resource Center at 642 22nd South.
In addition to cleaning the creek, the neighborhood association will add educational signs to discourage littering and encourage appreciation of the mangrove ecosystem. Participants will receive information about invasive and exotic plants and ways to remove them.
The Bartlett Park Community Garden will be utilized to teach and demonstrate the use of native low maintenance and drought tolerant plants in the landscape to reduce water, fertilizer and pesticide use.
