Come Work at the Garden!
Join us at the Garden every Saturday from 9:00 am-12:00 noon,
and from 2:00-5:00 pm. The Bartlett Park Community Garden is
at 1443 Highland Street South at the corner of Newton Ave
(near MLK St between 14th and 15th Avenues South). Garden
planning meetings happen Wednesday evenings at 6:00 pm.
Call 727-643-7189 for location.
You can also get updates on the garden and other neighborhood projects
at the monthly meeting of the Bartlett Park Neighborhood Association.
The association meets in the park at the Frank Pierce Center, 2000 7th Street South on the second Thursday each month at 6:00 P.M.
There are literally hundreds of people who have expressed
interest in community gardens in St Petersburg over the
last many months.
The garden is at a critical stage in its development and needs
your involvement. Look at all the great stuff going on:
* We broke ground this month on our vegetable plots
to have them ready to plant by April 16th.
There is lots more digging needed at the site so join us Saturday!
* We have received donations of fencing materials
and will need a large team of volunteers to help us install
it over the next two weeks.
* Bartlett Park Community Garden has t-shirts on the
way for our members who join either at $25 for the year,
or $100 or $500 for lifetime charter memberships. Join
today through our secure online donation link.
* Our booth at the Saturday Morning Market is reaching
hundreds of new supporters and volunteers every week, as well
as consistently raising the funds necessary to keep the garden
going. Every Saturday through May. Come spend a couple hours on a Saturday talking to
market-goers about community gardens!

Pam Brown to speak April 16th
Pinellas County Extension Urban Horticultural Agent Pam Brown will
be joining us at the Bartlett Park Community Garden site on
April 16th at 6:00 pm to talk about vegetable gardening and good
vegetables to plant in the hot Florida summer. Refreshments will be served. We are theming it around those foods that are going to be grown. There will be sweet potato pie, watermelon, biscuits, and punch.
Don't miss this historic talk and chance to plant some of our first gardens!
Garden members are getting seedlings started now for watermelon,
okra, cantaloupe, pepper, cherry tomato and sweet potato plants for
our Spring/Summer season. Call the garden at 727-643-7189 if you
can help cultivate some seedlings for our first planting.
You can be one of our community gardeners! Click here to sign up
online or email andrea@green-florida.org for information about
getting a vegetable plot at the community garden.
Thank you to the many people who have helped bring this garden
into being so far.
