Have a Happy Thanksgiving

A Thanksgiving gift from our neighbor Rosa Jackson continues through her grandson.

Since the 1970's the family has offered this dinner for the homeless or lonely.

Turkey and all of the trimmings will be offered this Thanksgiving Day at Campbell Park Recreation Center, 601 14th St. S.

All are welcome to enjoy the food and fellowship.

The tradition began in Mrs. Jackson's Roser Park home in 1973 , then it soon outgrew her home and moved to the community center at nearby Campbell Park.
Since Mrs. Jackson died in 1996 her grandson Darryl Jones has maintained this tradition.

And answering it is a good reminder of what's really important. Many of us are too often focused on what we'd like to change or be different, instead of remembering and being grateful for the blessings we already have in our lives.

Verse of the Day: The Wicked

The wicked remove landmarks; they seize flocks and pasture them. They drive away the donkey of the orphan; they take the widow's ox for a pledge. They thrust the needy off the road; the poor of the earth all hide themselves.

- Job 24:2-6

Hey! . Happy Thanksgiving!! :) :) :)
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, and every year I like to get into the mood-extend the holiday, since it were-by reading "Thanksgiving novels." Unsurprisingly, those stories are mostly about families, about coming together to heal old hurts and giving thanks for the gift of love. ... .. -- -- --
